Venice to Verona

Venice to Verona by train was a journey of only 70 minutes. The train stopped at but a few stations along the way. A journey of smooth and rapid transport between the two cities. Comfortable seating, superior to that found when travelling in economy class on a jet plane. Steward service included in the ticket price. Hushed engines permitted social conversation and occasion to chat about our day's happenings. Large windows presented uninterrupted views to the real world beyond the train. Glances of modern structures were sighted as we sped towards Verona. They surprised for the virtual reality of ancient Venice was left behind. Other subtle reminders reflected back at us from the outside. Inoffensive in nature yet clearly articulating a need for the traveller to return to contemporary thinking before the train arrived at its last station, Verona.
