La Tavola Marche Ca Camone - Pizza Night

Pizza night at the villa buzzed with a strong sense of community. Jason presented a demonstration of wood fired pizza making, Italian style. Onlookers were amazed by the rhythm and energy as Jason and Ashley systematically constructed, cooked and delivered a total of 16 pizzas to the seated guests. With pizza making the phrase less is more made sense as individual produce was readily recognised by the ravenous and discerning palates. I now know how to create a beautiful circle using pizza dough. It's all in the turning and angle at which one rolls the dough so as to avoid the square shaped pizza. Perhaps if you visit Ca Camone you'll discover Jason's special technique too. The wood fired pizza oven at 650 degrees, cooked the pizzas in a matter of minutes. Tiramisu completed an evening of dining in the villa's courtyard, under the northern stars by candelight. Who knew that many Americans are taught the very OZ songs, Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree, Waltzing Matilda and Tie My Kangaroo Down? I sat with some wonderful people who were more than happy to share their renditions of the verses for each song. A vocal group in the making perhaps.

  1. I suspect a pizza oven will be at your place now ( if not already)
