Constable's Cellar Door

What a discovery! At the end of the road, with gates that did not reveal the beauty within. So glad that we turned into the drive, for what we found, was simply stunning. The grounds and gardens boasted an extensive range of sculptures that we were free to walk amongst. The life-size cello player was but one that piqued my interest. The paths and terraces led the unfamiliar to each new artwork. The trees and plantings created a truly serene atmosphere for the casual wanderer. Around each corner another surprise was revealed. Inside the cellar door there stands a cow of generous proportions. The cow was painted with flamboyant colour and design. Another must see item at this vineyard. Next time I shall pack a picnic and dine under the trees or sun myself on the terrace.
