Lunch at Lillino's
On a long weekend when everyone visits the Hunter to sample the wine, take in the sights or simply to sit and relax to watch the world go by at their favourite Trattoria; then Lillino's is the place to do just that. On Sunday we sat watching the clouds gather slowly over the ranges in the distance. The enormous glass windows our eyes to the wintery world outside. Luigi selected something different from his cellar so that we could savour our wine while Frederico and Loic prepared our lunch. A heavy shower of rain over the mountains drew our attention as we speculated as to its location. A short but heavy downpour cleared the landscape of mist and the blue hues of the mountains appeared brighter. All this while we ate our bread. The aromas of the freshly baked bread greeted us as we savoured each bite. I had not realised just how hungry I was until the plated food was set before us.
